Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration Concert with Blue Hearts Jazz Quartet In-Person
In honor of the Juneteenth National Holiday, the Blue Hearts Jazz Quartet, featuring Myles Lino, tenor sax, Darius Beckford, piano, Alfonso Ramos, upright bass and Kim Peralta, drums, will perform works by African American composers from the Great American Songbook spanning the Swing through Bebop eras of modern jazz.
The concert is a free event, funded by the Friends of the Newburgh Free Library. The quartet’s personnel are alumni of SUNY Jazz Ensemble and SUNY New Paltz Jazz Studies Program. The quartet’s members belong to a collective of jazz musicians from the Hudson Valley who perform throughout the region in combos of varying sizes, from duos and trios through quartets, quintets and larger ensembles.
