Sojourner Truth: First Step to Freedom Unveiling Ceremony In-Person
Join us for the unveiling of the new installation of Sojourner Truth: First Step to Freedom from the collection at SUNY New Paltz. The statue features Truth depicted in 1826 as she is walking to freedom carrying her daughter, Sophia. We will be joined by Barbara Allen, a sixth generation descendant of Sojourner Truth and have multiple performances and a special edition of UJIMA.
