Octavia Butler: Her Life and Legacy Online
Join us for a presentation from Vassar professor Dr. Eve Dunbar on the science fiction author Octavia Butler, a pioneer 'in the white, male-dominated field of American science fiction'. Butler's prescient work resonates with many years after her death and addresses the topics of racism, classism, environmentalistm, sexuality, gender roles, and reproductive justice. This presentation will include infomration on the life of the author, a look at some of her writing, and a discussion led by professor Dunbar.
